A Quick Back-to-School Guide for Parents

Back-to-school season always comes faster than we expect. One minute you're buying crayons, and lunch boxes, and the next you are sifting through a stack of school forms wondering, "Do I really need to get this notarized?"

If you're a parent in Georgia (for anywhere, really), Chances are the answer is: Yes, at least one or two of those forms need notarizations before your child walks into class on day 1.

Here's a quick list of the most common school documents that may need to be notarized-- and how Notary Now ATL can make the process quick and stress-free.

Proof of Residency/Residency Affidavit : If you're living with family, or don't have a lease in your name, schools usually want extra documentation -- often in the form of a notarized affidavit. This helps confirm that your child lives within the school zone.

Guardianship Affidavit : Is your child living with someone else? A grandparent, godparent, or a family friend? Schools will need a notarized Guardianship Affidavit to give the adult the ability to make educational decisions for your child.

Helpful Tip: make sure you check to see if the school requires this form yo be updated every year.
